Metro X on Apple Watch: the beat on your wrist

A standalone watch app: a metronome with taps and clicks, the String tuner, Play and Sync rooms, even without your iPhone nearby. With the iPhone close, it follows the phone's beat and adds remotes for the metronome and the Play player. Included with Metro X on iPhone; requires watchOS 10 or later.

What you get

  • Haptic metronome. A tap and a click on every beat, with a stronger tap on the downbeat. Set the tempo with the Digital Crown and keep tapping with the screen dimmed.
  • Works without the iPhone. The metronome, the String tuner, Play and Sync rooms run on the watch itself. If the iPhone can't be reached, the watch tells you.
  • String tuner. Tune with the watch's microphone, in the same String view as the Tune tab.
  • Sync rooms on the wrist. Join a room with its code and the watch taps the host's beat.
  • Follows the phone. While the Beat tab or a Sync room is playing on your iPhone, the watch taps that beat, aligned to the phone's clock and corrected for the Taptic Engine's delay.
  • Beat and Play remotes. With the iPhone nearby, start and stop the phone's metronome and change its tempo, or play and stop the piano accompaniment at 75, 90, 100 or 110%.
